Stellantis has issued a recall for approximately 92,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models from the 2024 and 2025 model years. The recall stems from a potential fault in the electronic steering column assembly that may cause intermittent loss of power-assisted steering.

NHTSA documents indicate that 14 complaints were filed, including three reports of near-miss incidents in highway driving conditions. The loss of power assist does not eliminate manual steering capability, but significantly increases the effort needed to turn the wheel.

Dealers will replace the steering column control module and update the associated software free of charge. Stellantis expects parts to be available starting May 1, and owners will receive mailed notifications with scheduling instructions.
