Honda is recalling approximately 88,000 CR-V models from the 2025 and 2026 model years after discovering a potential defect in the electric power steering column assembly. The issue could cause intermittent loss of power steering assist without warning.
The defect was identified through Honda's internal quality monitoring system after a pattern of warranty claims emerged over the past two months. No crashes or injuries have been linked to the problem.
Affected owners will receive notification letters by late April, and Honda dealers will replace the steering column assembly at no charge. The repair is expected to take approximately two hours.
