Toyota has issued a recall affecting approximately 145,000 RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime models from the 2024 and 2025 model years due to a defect in the battery cooling system. The issue involves a faulty sensor that may fail to detect overheating conditions.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the recall after receiving 23 reports of warning lights and three cases of reduced power. No fires or injuries have been reported so far.

Owners will be notified by mail starting May 1, and dealers will replace the sensor and update the battery management software free of charge.
